synthroid with meals

Eating too much Protein and or not eating enough vegetables can throw your bodies PH Balance off.  This can have many adverse effects on your body including retaining fat!!

When our body pH becomes more and more acidic it starts to set up defense mechanisms to keep the damaging acid from entering our vital organs.   When you balance out your system it runs much more efficiently not only at flushing fat and toxins, but also in keeping you healthy looking and feeling!  Here are 10 tips to keeping your body Alkalized so that you can feel amazing and get those fat blasting results you’ve been waiting for!

#1 — Drink water with fresh lemon and or Lime!

(Minimize: coffee, black tea and sodas. – These drinks are highly acidic and do not count towards your daily water intake)

#2 — Drink a Super Green Supplement. Organic super greens are known to be some of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. They infuse the body with easily absorbed vitamins, minerals, amino acids chlorophyll, enzymes, phytonutients and alkaline salts that help neutralize acids in the blood and tissues.

#3 — Eat Green Salads – Make a huge salad every few days and keep it in your fridge to make it very easy to alkalize your body. Some greens that have the highest water content are: cucumbers, lettuce, tomatoes, celery, broccoli, cabbage, spinach, cauliflower, carrots, and onions.

#4 – Switch from cow’s milk, to almond, soy, or rice milk. Cows milk has shown to produce an abundance of mucous in the human body.  Most dairy cows are injected with hormones such as the Bovine Growth Hormone to increase their milk production. Many of these hormones have potentially horrific side effects that can be passed on when consumed.

#5 – Avoid artificial sweeteners! This includes: NutraSweet, Sucralose, Aspartame, Saccharin…. Not only are these acidic they also have other highly detrimental effects on the nervous system and neurological disease. Saccharin even tells you right on the package that it may cause cancer.

There is one natural sugar substitute that has had no reported side effects: Stevia.

#6 – Eat a grapefruit first thing in the morning. Grapefruit, similar to lemons, is also alkalizing when ingested.  Grapefruits have a very high water content and are highly alkalizing.

#7 – Moderate consumption of red meat, pork, lamb…substitute chicken, turkey or fresh fish in small quantities. Red meats, pork and lamb are highly acidic a very low water content, not to mention being hard on the digestive system. If you must have meat, opt for chicken or turkey. Fresh wild fish is another excellent route to take.

#8 –  Minimize/Avoid…. processed and refined foods. That means anything made with white flour and white sugar or food coloring.

#9 –  Eat Celery…. This is one of the most alkaline foods you can eat. It quickly neutralizes acids. Eat it before, after or during a meal.  Celery is excellent for digestion.

#10 – Include meditation, yoga, and proper breathing to your day. An additional factor that adds to acidosis (acidic bodies) is stress. When the body moves into stress mode the digestive system shuts down and toxins cease to be eliminated.

KNOWLEDGE IS THE KEY TO ENJOYING YOUR DIET!

Diet This Diet That, are you one of those people that are sick of the word diet?  I’m not! I just use it differently.  My diet consists of foods I love to eat and also foods that are exactly what my body needs!  When deciding on what to eat, start to think about what is the best possible thing you could ingest into your body according to when you last worked out.  I know that might sound tricky, but read it again charlie it makes perfect sense!  When you work out you are burning your sources of energy up and THEY NEED TO BE REPLACED.  If you burn carbs you will need carbs!

I hate to burst your bubble but us humans were not designed to sit behind a desk for 8-10 hours a day.  That’s horrible for your back and if you don’t get any exercise, then your insides will stop functioning right.  Diet and Exercise go hand in hand and are both equally important in your quest to look and feel your best!

SO WHATS THE RIGHT DIET FOR YOU?

You could get hcg from Shop4diets or shed some LBS with Flor- Essence Detox Tea, but let me ask you some questions first! What do you do for a living? YOUR MUSCLES NEED CARBS AFTER YOU WORKOUT!!!

Before I type a long post about how your body actually uses and needs a certain amount of carbs, and also explain how it takes a tremendous amount of EXTRA carbs for them to ever turn into fat.. read this very usefull article ( The Truth about Carbs Turning into Fat) and then return here to Hollywoodfitness.Biz

Ok I hoped that article was helpful!  Here is what I’ve learned through my own experience with working out and eating.  It is possible to build muscle and burn fat at the same time. (Ladies this is for you too)  At first they didn’t think it was possible because to lose weight you have to eat less, but to build muscle you have to eat more!  A mistake I made was I would work out super hard for about an hour and a half, then play basketball for 2 hours and I thought I was going ot get in amazing shape by cutting my carbs and eating less.  Turns out all I did was feel like crap at the end of the day.  I didn’t build the muscles I was trying to and I didn’t lose the weight I thought I would.  I didn’t lose the weight I thought I would because I didn’t build the muscles up properly.

You know why people with the flu lose weight by laying in bed all day?  Part of it is becuase they are consuming less calories, but it is mainly becuase you burn the most calories from fat while you are at rest or doing Low Intensity cardio like WALKING!!  The more muscle tone you have the more fat you burn while at rest.  This is important for both men and women becuase if you want to look and feel your best and keep the fat burning off, you have to tone up your muscles and get plenty of rest.

So what does this have to do with eating carbs you ask??

Your muscles need lots of carbs to refuel the empty tanks after you weight train!! Carbs raise your insulin and insulin gets all the nutrients in your body where they need to be. Now that you know that it is extremely rare and difficult for your body to turn carbs into fat you don’t have to worry so much.  By working out hard and then playing basketball and not eating enough carbs, my muscles did not have enough nutrients to repair and develope properly.  Basketball is high intensity so it burns a lot of carbs.  Since I didn’t have enough carbs, I was running on amino acids that my muscles should have been using to repair!  Since my muscles didn’t grow, I didnt lose much weight at all.

To make a long story short, follow this and you will feel great, look great, and get to eat the foods you love.

WORKOUT DAYS at least 3 days a week- After your workout Consume calories from  60% Carbs 30% Protein and 10% fat

Cardio Days- 50% protein 30% carbs and 20% fat

Consume most of your calories on workout days after your workout, eat light before hand, and on cardio days.. thats your fat burning days so go lower carb lower calorie.  But High Carb High calorie after your workouts!

Try it out, it works!  You get to eat things you love after your workouts like pasta, pizza, burgers, non fat frozen yogurt.. just keep it low fat with the pizza and burgers!  Dont mix high carb with fat because like I said the insulin gets things to where they are stored and you don’t want to store fat!  I hope you found this helpful!  Email me with any questions and keep checking back with HollywoodFitness.Biz!

Some people get uncomfortable with the topic of Supplementation.  For some reason they equate Supplements to steroids or other risky paths to obtaining Ultimate Results.  Don’t get it confused, I am about Ultimate Health.. Vitamins minerals and Herbs are all natural and are considered Supplements.  We just don’t get everything our body needs from the foods we eat daily, that’s why it is so important to take atleast a multi vitamin.

Lack of energy, anxiety, restlessness and many other bad feelings can be a sign that you are missing a vital vitamin, mineral or even be lacking  multiple nutrients for your body.  Here is a link to point out symptoms of deficiancy in certain nutrients.  http://www.colloidal-minerals-plus.com/list.html

Besides supplementing to keep from lacking a nutrient, there are many safe ways to increase your workout performance and get better results faster by loading up on certain supplements.  For an example Vitamin B’s give you loads of energy, while Chromium can aid with a speedier weight loss!

Below is a chart that lists some but not all Vitamins and Minerals and Herbs and their function.  No one is expected to memorize all of this info, but use these charts as a reference!  Natural supplementation can be extremely beneficial when it comes to burning fat, building muscle, feeling great, and reaching your full potential!  I hope this helps!
