Even harder than jump squats!

Spread your feet apart one in front of the other. Bend your legs keeping your back strait until your back leg is about an inch above the ground.  Now explode up and get some air.  In the air switch the position of your feet so that the front foot goes to the back and the back leg goes to the front hence the word shuffle.  Now immediately bend your knees to absorb the landing and once your back leg is an inch above the ground, explode up again.

Performing these lunge shuffles after or before performing squat jumps is what us pros like to call ” A Killer Leg Workout”.  Perform them either by reps or by time.  Start out by either trying to do 30 lunge shuffles or for 30 seconds.  See how long you can go.  They are super tough!   For more tips like these keep checking back with us at Los Angeles Fitness.

Here’s a killer leg exercise that will have those legs burning.

Perform a normal body weight squat keeping your back as strait as possible and push your butt out backwards to keep your knees behind your toes.

Now explode up and jump as high as you can!

When you land, do not land stiff legged but immediately go into the next body weight squat so your legs are acting like a spring absorbing the landing and pushing back up into the next jump.

Try doing this for 30 seconds and see how those legs feel.  If you do a few sets of these you will really feel those legs burning and I promise you cannot burn calories any faster than this.  Since the leg muscles are the biggest muscles we have, they burn the most calories!  Have fun!
